As long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with flight. It is rare that I resist the temptation to look up when I hear an aircraft fly overhead.

I began my flight training in 2008 while working as a Corrections Officer with the Mesquite Police Department. I first obtained my pilot’s license in 2013 and have been a flight instructor since 2014. The training was definitely a challenge and would have been a lot more difficult without the support of my wife Abagail and three children Mikian, Jacob and Nevaeh.

As a flight instructor, my goal is to help those who have aspirations to fly, learn the importance of being a safe aviator. Throughout the training process, you’ll learn how to make smart decisions that will keep you safe and ultimately allow you to enjoy the flying experience.

One of the things that I’ve learned since becoming a flight instructor is that hard work pays off. The more you put into something, the more you’ll get out of it. I try to keep that mentality with all my students both past and present. Since the aviation community is so small, it’s important to continue to learn and grow as a pilot in order to keep the skies safe and enjoyable.

As you take the first steps into your aviation career, I hope you can allow Sandstone Aviation to be apart of that journey!

Ever since I was little, I was fascinated with the thought of flying. After finishing up college, I met up with one of my friends who took me flying in a Cessna 172 over Zion National Park.

The views that I saw and the thought of being able to fly really stuck with me. From then on, I knew that this is something that I wanted to do.

I went to flight school down in Mesa, Arizona called ATP. I started there with zero hours of flight time but was so excited to start my aviation journey. I worked my way up to earning my commercial multi-engine license and an instrument rating. I returned to St. George where I finished up my training and earned my certified flight instructor license in September 2020. I’ve been working here at Sandstone Aviation ever since.
